Rebecca Truitt, BS (she/her/hers)

Co-founder, Retreat Facilitator

Rebecca has spent her life adventuring in nature and working with horses. Growing up on a farm in West Virginia, Rebecca has always found peace and renewal in nature and has been riding and caring for horses since she could walk. She attended college in Asheville, North Carolina, in the heart of Appalachia, where she worked for the college garden and horse crew, working with amish-trained Belgian Draft horses for the farm-school she attended.

After receiving her BS in Chemistry, Rebecca moved to Alaska to work at a ranch where she guided back-country horse excursions and helped facilitate retreats, youth camps with the neighboring Kenaitze tribe and events for independent living communities in the area, as well as exclusive hospitality retreats curated for individuals looking for the glamorous outdoor experience. During her time in Alaska, she learned a lot about the native medicinal herbs and identification, home-steading and subsistence-based living. She now works full time in Arizona as an environmental scientist monitoring and protecting surface water for the state.

Rebecca continues to be an outdoor enthusiast and has done a number of long back-packing excursions, lots of camping as well as traveling the world, surfing, mountain biking and volunteering at local horse sanctuaries and therapy facilities in the Phoenix area. Her unique combination of environmental science knowledge, horse expertise and love for plants along with her passion for adventure and meaningful human connection have given her a versatile background poised for equine & adventure therapy and hospitality.

Christina Devore, MA, LPCC (she/her/hers)

Co-founder, Retreat Facilitator

Christina is a professional mental health therapist who is dedicated to helping individuals heal and grow, through guiding others towards fulfilling their innate need for connection. Throughout her many years in the service industry, she realized her passion lies in listening, witnessing and reflecting other’s experiences. In addition, she began recognizing the positive impact that connecting with others and the natural world had on her own mental health journey, so she followed the calling and moved from the hill country of Austin, Texas, to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where she finished her BA in Psychology at CSU. She then went on to further her education at Naropa University, where she obtained an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy.

Christina currently resides in Denver, Colorado, where she works with adolescents, adults, couples and groups at her private practice, Radiant Dawn Therapy. She is constantly expanding her knowledge of nature-based exercises, gestalt equine exercises and wilderness first responder skills. While her experience ensures the safety of participants, her passion, empathy and commitment creates an inviting space where change and growth can occur. As one of the founders and lead facilitators at Equinox Odysseys, she is dedicated to guiding individuals through wilderness adventures and facilitating powerful interactions between clients and horses, to enable clients to explore their emotions and patterns of behavior in a non-judgmental and empowering space.

When she is not working with clients, you can typically find her engaging in the various sports that Colorado has to offer, exploring natural environments, practicing guitar, singing karaoke, playing pool, experimenting with cooking or engaging in a friendly game of pickle ball. If you're ready to embark on a transformative journey that combines the power of nature, equine therapy, and professional guidance, let Christina be your trusted companion, guiding you toward personal growth and a deeper connection with yourself and the world around you.
